“ONE STEP AT A TIME” WALK-A-THON

Our annual Walk-A-Thon is both our primary fundraiser and a service project. Kids’ groups participate, raise funds, and receive grants to help with equipment, travel, and other team expenses. Click here for more information!

WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

We help more than 30 WESD schools raise funds through our Walk-A-Thon, returning 80% of each school’s donations through grants. We also support after-school programs, social services, school gardens, dictionaries for third graders, and other student programs.

CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR KIDS

Each Christmas, we work with WESD social workers to provide clothing, necessities, and toys for 100 children at Title I schools. Our partnership with AZ Sunshine Angels helps us make the holidays even brighter with additional donated toys.

TURKEY TROT

We provide Thanksgiving food boxes and turkeys to 140 WESD families and 26 ValleyLife group homes. With help from Walmart, Peddler’s Son, and our sponsored Key Clubs, volunteers pack and distribute overflowing boxes of food to families in need.

DICTIONARY PROJECT

Each year, we give approximately 2,300 WESD third graders their own Student Dictionary. For many students, it becomes a treasured book they can keep and use for years.

COLLEGE & TRADE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

We award three $2,000 scholarships each year – one for a graduating senior from each Key Club we sponsor. Scholarships may be used toward college, university, or trade school.

KEY CLUB SPONSORSHIPS

We sponsor Key Clubs at the Thunderbird, Greenway and Sunnyslope High Schools. Our members advise Key Clubs in service projects, club meetings, leadership development, and scholarships. We also launched the area’s first STEM-based Key Club, where students develop technology and science-based solutions for community organizations such as the American Red Cross.
